Most grapes in Austria are grown
in the eastern half of the country. Grape growing is concentrated
along the major rivers (i.e. - Danube). Among the major
wine producing areas are: Wachau which grows primarily
Riesling and Greuener Veltliner, Wien which also produces
primarily Riesling and Greuener Veltliner and Burgenland, which
is the warmest and most humid area, where production includes
Pinot
Blanc and Pinot
Gris as well as some red wine and dessert wines.
