Chateau Saint-Pierre

Chateau Saint-Pierre

Appellation Saint Julien Controlée

Location: Chateau Saint-Pierre is located in the heart of Saint Julien. Saint Julien is a small commune on the left bank of the Gironde Estuary in Bordeaux. Saint Julien is just south of Pauillac in the Medoc region of Bordeaux.

Size: 42 acres producing 5,000 cases.

Classification: Fourth Growth

Grape varieties: 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

Vinification: Stainless steel fermenting vats, a high proportion of new oak barrels and rigorous selection of the Grand Vin.

History: Dating from the 17th century, Saint-Pierre was for many years divided and dispersed among several owners. In 1982, Henri Martin and his son-in-law, Jean-Louis Triaud, reunited the vineyards, chateau and name. Saint-Pierre is now restored to its original grandeur.

Style: Always deeply colored big and luscious, Saint Pierre is ripe, rich and round with a full finish.

Food: Serve with chicken, pork and veal.
