Pouilly-Fuisse
Clos Reissier

Location:

The Cave de Chaintré is located in the commune of Chaintré which together with the four other villages of Pouilly, Fuisse, Solutré and Vergission comprise the appellation of Pouilly Fuisse located just west of Macon in Southern Burgundy.

Vineyard:

It covers 37 acres and is divided between 21 farmers. It is named after a former owner. The soil is comprised of chalk and clay. The fruit from 30 acres is vinified at the Cooperative cellar of Chaintré. Clos Reissier has a southeastern exposure.

Grape Variety:

100% Chardonnay

History:

The Cave de Chaintré is one of the most reliable producers in the appellation. Their Clos Reissier vineyard is one of the foremost single vineyard sites.

Vinification:

Vinified in stainless steel and bottled with no oak aging.

Style:

Dry and fruity with good balance and fine bouquet.

Food:

Serve well chilled as a delightful aperitif or with seafood and salads.
